factory re-roof, henderson
The roof at 122 Railside Avenue, Henderson, Auckland was over 50 years old and was in need of some attention. It was time to give it an overhaul and bring this building out of the 70’s and into the 21st century. The reroof was smooth sailing from start to finish and the end result has completely rejuvenated the building.
COVID-19 CAN’T STOP TOPLINE
Topline Roofing was able to resume work at Alert Level 3 and Railside Avenue was the very first job after Level 4 lockdown eased. This meant new procedures and protocols on site, with an increase in Topline’s already strict Health and Safety measures. Due to the forward thinking of Sales and Project Manager, Mike Leppan, all deliveries made it to site on Day 1. Mike had considered the escalating Covid-19 situation and pre-ordered all the required materials prior to lockdown, which meant there were no delays with deliveries.
HELLO 2020
Mike and his team redesigned the dormers and took them into 2020 with a sleek, modernised look. Gone were the bulky, rusted peaks that dated the whole look of the building. The team saw the opportunity to upgrade the building further and suggested that whilst the scaffolding was in place for the reroof, the team could also get some cladding and painting work done simultaneously. All within a three week deadline!
THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT
The team was so happy to receive this fantastic feedback from the customer: “Thank you for reroofing our building – the view from the drone looks amazing. I, and the tenants I spoke with, were very impressed with you and your team, their politeness, competency, the professional look of the uniform, and their work rate. Thank you too for the suggestions of further preventative maintenance that could, and is being, attended to while you are on site with scaffolding in place.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY
Part of the success of this job was the constant communication between the team. Mike and Leading Hand, Grant, discussed details of this job every single day. Lockdown was tough for a lot of workers out there and being on site was a big morale boost for the guys. There was a very real sense of pride and attention to detail which is evident on the workmanship. The team made it happen, regardless of lockdown and Covid-19.
“When you see that drone video with the before and after shots, and you still get hit with that WOW factor? That’s when you know you are in the right job!”
