MOTAT Re-Roof with Membrane Warm Roof System
It was fantastic to work with C3 Construction to have the opportunity to provide a re-roofing solution for one of the buildings at MOTAT, Auckland’s iconic science and technology museum.
Membrane warm roofing project, Auckland
Both Topline and the client were equally impressed by the striking results using this warm roof system with membrane overlay.
What products were used on the MOTAT re-roof project?
This is a great example of a membrane warm roof system. This roofing project involved supplying and installing a Rooflogic Overlay Recovery System over the existing metal roof that was leaking badly.
What was specifically involved in the MOTAT roofing project?
The re-roof involved securing existing roof to substrate, installing PIR foam fillers to build up roof level, installing a vapour control layer and then overlay with 80mm PIR insulation board, mechanically fixed to existing roof.
Was there anything unique about this re-roof project?
Topline also installed a wire trace prior to laying down the top membrane sheeting. This is to detect any leaks should they occur in the future. The membrane sheet is adhered by spray solvent and heat-welded together.
A hi-vis walkway was installed to guide tradesmen over the roof for maintenance purposes.
What was the end result of this commercial re-roof project?
A very efficient, warm and quiet roof that will last for many years to come.
